COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan W. Lindsay as Vice President for Enrollment Management. Lindsay will begin his work at CCAD on July 12. "This appointment is driven by our desire to broaden our institutional reach,” said CCAD President Denny Griffith.  “CCAD represents an incredibly high-value, moderately priced, rich educational environment, and our track record in creative economy workforce development is noteworthy and powerful.  Jonathan is a splendid guy with the skills, acumen, and track record to ratchet up our student recruitment and retention efforts on a truly national level."

Lindsay comes to CCAD with more than 20 years of senior administrative experience at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). During his tenure at SAIC, he saw the college’s annual enrollment grow from 1,300 to 3,000 students. “We had a team of people who were committed to raising the college’s reputation and enrollment from that of a regional school to a national school,” he said.

Lindsay hopes to translate that success to his work at CCAD, using his team approach and exceptional collaboration skills to help the college meet its institutional goals. He continued, “Denny Griffith has a lot of the pieces for CCAD’s growth in place—strong academics, new buildings, and a mature team of individuals who work well together. I am looking forward to working with Denny and this great team.”

Lindsay is excited about his move to CCAD and Columbus. “It was a thrill to be back on an art school campus,” he recalled of his first visit to CCAD this spring. During his interview visits, he had the chance to see the CCAD Art Sale, the Senior Fashion Show, and the 131st Annual Student Exhibition. “It was great to see all the artwork on the walls,” he continued. He is also impressed by CCAD’s strong connection to the Columbus community. “Through its partnerships and initiatives, the college is making a huge contribution to the vibrancy of the city. And the proximity to the city’s cultural and business life adds significantly to the life of the college.”

In an effort to get to know the college quickly, Lindsay will live short-term in the Design Square Apartments, one of CCAD’s residence halls. He plans to make enrollment a campus-wide focus, bringing the responsibility of enrollment to all members of the CCAD family.
