Top Works of Students, Alumni Selected for Sale at CCAD Event Dec. 7

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Nov. 13, 2013) -- The creative work of 101 artists from Columbus College of Art & Design will be for sale at the college’s semi-annual Art Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Loann Crane Center for Design.

The Art Fair is the ideal place for those looking to pick up a unique gift, to decorate a new space or to start collecting original artwork. The fair will feature a diverse array of items from jewelry, to oil paintings, graphic prints, ceramics and blown glass at prices ranging from $1 to $5,000.

CCAD student artists, along with a limited number of alumni, staff and faculty, submitted samples of their work for review by a jury of art professionals, with the top artists selected to be vendors at the sale. Students attend workshops prior to the sale to learn about displaying their work, greeting customers and building rapport during the sales process.

“Students learn to price and market their work, just as they will need to do in building their careers after graduation,” said Janie Robinson, assistant director of Career Services at CCAD. “The Art Fair provides an opportunity for many students to work in different media and learn about what customers want and expect from them.”

All admissions proceeds benefit the CCAD scholarship fund and the revenue from all sales go directly to the artists. First Choice admission ($50) gives shoppers early access to the sale beginning at 9 a.m. General admission ($5) begins at 10 a.m.

Check out an album of participating artists with their work on Facebook.
