CCAD to Award Scholarships at Ohio State Fair Youth Arts Exhibition
COLUMBUS, Ohio (April 14, 2014)—Columbus College of Art & Design will sponsor scholarship awards for the Ohio State Fair Youth Arts Exhibition running July 23-Aug. 3 at the Ohio State Fair Cox Fine Arts Center.
The annual statewide competition is open to Ohio youth Pre-K-grade 12. Students must submit artwork by May 29 to be considered. For submission guidelines and to enter the competition, visit the Ohio State Fair website.
“CCAD’s partnership with the Ohio State Fair is an incredible opportunity for us to support young artists who will play an important role in the creative economy of our future,” said Densil Porteous, director of Admissions at CCAD. “We are committed to encouraging students in the local community to be passionate about creativity.”
CCAD will award a total of $1,250 in scholarships to four select students, one in each age group:
• Level 1, Pre-K-grade 1: $50 scholarship for Saturday Morning Art Classes
• Level 2, grades 1-4: $100 scholarship for Saturday Morning Art Classes
• Level 3, grades 5-8: $100 scholarship for Saturday Morning Art Classes
• Level 4, grades 9-12: $1,000 CCAD scholarship
Students will receive their awards at the Youth Arts Awards Ceremony on Aug. 3 from 4-5 p.m. at the Ohio State Fair Cox Fine Arts Center, 717 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH.
