Search Update

I am pleased to report the Presidential Search remains on schedule.

As we noted in our last update, the month of March was to be very busy with members of the search committee meeting to review the vitae of candidates, winnowing the list to a pool of interviewees and yielding a set of finalists.

Thanks to the hard work of the committee members—CCAD trustees, staff and academic leadership—and the excellent work of our search firm, Korn/Ferry, we enter the month of April just where the plan says we should be.

We look forward to sharing the next round of updates.

Dear CCAD Community:

I want to provide an update on our progress with the Presidential Search.Via the excellent efforts of our search firm, Korn/Ferry, our web-based nomination process, and other means of identifying candidates, we currently have a strong pool of candidates, which is very encouraging. In March, the members of the search committee, composed as you know of CCAD trustees, staff, academic administrators and the president of faculty council will be meeting to review the vitae of these candidates. Their goal is to rate these, and winnow them down to a pool candidates who will be confidentially interviewed with the goal of narrowing the group to a set of finalists.

We are heartened by the progress that is being made, and believe we will have an interesting group of candidates to evaluate. We will keep you apprised of our progress, as appropriate.

In its first month, the committee has completed a number of important steps to begin the search for CCAD’s fourth president.

The board-appointed committee vetted several executive recruitment firms and hired Korn/Ferry International to lead the CCAD search. Representing Korn/Ferry is Paul Hsun-Ling Chou. His bio is available online at www.kornferry.com/consultants.

On Oct. 1 Chou led meetings with faculty, staff, and students to gather input from internal constituencies.

The committee and Korn/Ferry used this input, as well as other data, to develop a job description, which has been approved by the board and posted on this site. Ads have been place and Korn/Ferry is in the process of accepting applications.
