Materials created by CCAD students, staff and alumni fetched nine awards of merit and excellence at Creative Best 2010, an annual recognition of outstanding communication arts in central Ohio.
Works lauded by three judges for Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA) include CCAD’s Viewbook, produced by the college’s student Design Group and creative director Lindsay Kronmiller with Ologie, the branding agency founded by alumna Bev Bethge (CCAD, ’82-’86), and Think.Do., a short video created by Oligie for the college. Both pieces earned awards of merit.
Merit awards in the professional category went to two CCAD students. Danielle Deley, a senior in Advertising & Graphic Design, was recognized for the t-shirts series she created to promote CCAD’s Saturday Morning Art Classes program. Abeer Sleiman, a Media Studies senior, was honored for the campaign Those Picked Last. Sleiman also received an award of excellence for an identity campaign (be thirty six) and an award of merit for an AMC Romance Channel bumper.
Other students who left CSCA’s party with awards of merit include Emily Shirk, a senior in Advertising & Graphic Design, for branding work for Cutler’s; Jordan Edwards, an Ad & Graphic Design senior, for Oreck: Listen to your Floors; and alumna Kayla Risch (CCAD, ’10) for Pets Without Parents.
