Alumna Anousone Panyanouvong (2007) is one of six finalist in Microsoft’s “Make It Great” competition, giving her the opportunity to win $10,000 to make the New Year great.
Contestants were asked to create a Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation detailing how they would spend $10,000 to make 2011 a great year. The first, second, and third place winners will win $10,000, $5,000 and $1,000 respectively.
Panyanouvong designed the plan for an urban forest, a system of exchanging plants within the community and following the plants progress using social media, with Phavanhna Douangboupha. The goal of the project is to bring nature indoors while also connecting with family, friends, and colleagues.
Voting ends January 20. Use this link to cast your ballot today.
