Adjunct faculty and Fine Arts alumnus Michael Stillion (CCAD 2002) and Fine Arts alumna Kate Labmeier (CCAD 2002) recently exhibited their work at Marshall University’s Birke Art Gallery.

This is the first time the husband-and-wife duo has shown work together. The exhibit features oil paintings and drawings by Stillion and embroidered animal portraits by Labmeier.

“It will be interesting to see how our pieces work next to one another as we share many of the same experiences, yet our interpretations of similar subjects are very different,” Stillion said prior to the exhibition opening. “The overall theme of the show is portraiture, and we hope that the college community can see that there is more than one way to approach a portrait—in both subject matter and material.”
