Send to KindleAdjunct faculty and Fine Arts alumna Mariana Smith (CCAD 2002) and adjunct instructor and Fine Arts alumna Susan Li O’Connor (CCAD 1996) were recently selected for GCAC’s Dresden Residency Program.
Smith’s work brings together printmaking, drawing, and video installation in order to initiate dialogue about identity, locality, time, and memory. O’Connor’s work deals with the accumulation of everyday objects and the transformation of them into sculptural forms and installations.
GCAC, in conjunction with the Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research, and the Fine Arts, has provided Columbus artists the opportunity to experience a residency in Dresden, Germany since 1994. O’Connor and Smith will travel to Dresden sometime between between March 1 and November 30 for a period of eight to 12 weeks, allowing them to concentrate on research and production of their art.
