Send to KindleMFA candidate Pamela Theodotou’s film project Stark Justice made the first cut in The Columbus International Film + Video Festival (CIF+VF) Experimental Shorts Division.
The film is a neo-noir cinemagraphic novel following a main character, Tom Stark, who is an assassin hired by the government.
“One of the goals of the project was to explore new media options in presenting narrative,” Theodotou said. “I wanted to create a work that visually reads like a novel but uses video, art, and special effects to enhance the experience. There are no vocals—just music and sound effects and written dialogue in the form of kinetic text.”
CIF+VF, now in its 60th year, is Nov. 13–18.
