CCAD students and faculty screened their videos on Dec. 14 during the Columbus Moving Image Art Review (CMIAR) on the Ohio State University campus. The event also included work by OSU faculty, students, and alumni.

“This is a great opportunity for beginning filmmakers to see their work on the ‘big screen’ with an audience made up of other filmmakers, artists, and enthusiasts,” said Philip R. Garrett, visiting faculty in Cinematic Arts, who showed his short experimental/quasi-documentary The Astronomer at the event.

CMIAR is a quarterly screening that includes works from local artists. This December marked the 13th event.

Videos by CCAD students featured in CMIAR included:

  • Great Destroyer by Advertising & Graphic Design and Cinematic Arts sophomore Hunter Preston
  • Violent Bliss by Cinematic Arts sophomore Tom Lepley
  • I love BMX by Cinematic Arts sophomore Brant Moore
  • Video 1 Project by Cinematic Arts sophomore Yazmin Ruiz
  • Tattoo Taboo and Self Portrait Stop Animation by Cinematic Arts junior Amanda Hess
  • Paralyzed by Photography sophomore Karl Allsop
  • See Birds and Imperfect from Photography sophomore Sarah Brevick
  • One Day by graduate student Yang Wu
