Professor Charlene Fix’s book Harpo Marx as Trickster has been published by McFarland Publishers.

The book was 10 years in the making and explores her reasoning in defining Harpo Marx, a member of cinema’s famous Marx Brothers, as a trickster.

A trickster figure is a literary term to describe a character that plays tricks or otherwise disobeys normal behavior and includes well-known characters such as the Joker from the Batman comics and the Brer Rabbit.
