Industrial Design alumnus Larry Winston Collins (CCAD 1986) was commissioned by the Ohio Department of Transportation to design and create a mural along the Long Street Cultural Wall in Columbus, OH.

Collins is collaborating with local photographer Kojo Kamau on the project, which will consist of 60 panels installed along the wall for a total length of 240 feet. The panels will feature black and white photographs and linoleum-cut carvings honoring people, businesses, and institutions connected to the nearby King-Lincoln and Discovery districts.

Those to be featured in the mural include wood carver Elijah Pierce, author James Thurber, politician Jerry Hammond, and former CCAD president Joseph Canzani.

According to ODOT’s website, the mural will be unveiled in early November 2013.
