Adjunct Instructor of Foundation Studies Susan Li O’Connor was invited to have a conversation with the Columbus Museum of Art’s contemporary curator, Tyler Cann, for an interview that was archived at the Library of Congress.
O’Connor, also a 1996 Fine Arts alumna, shared her experiences with the museum as a local artist and member of the Columbus community during the 40-minute interview.
The interview came about after the Columbus Museum of Art was awarded the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service in May. Medal winners were selected from nationwide nominations of institutions that demonstrate innovative approaches to public service.
StoryCorps—a national nonprofit dedicated to recording, preserving, and sharing the stories of Americans—conducted the interviews to document the stories of each winning institution.
The interview is archived at the Library of Congress and may be featured on StoryCorps’ program on NPR.
