Cinematic Arts junior Richard Smith’s latest film made a splash across the pond last week.
Shop Talk with Old Familiar Barbershop, a short film about a barbershop in Columbus’ Olde Towne East neighborhood, was screened Monday, Jan. 27, at the Kingston Arts London Student Film Festival in London.
The film features interviews with barbers Kenji Prince and Josh Wilbur and footage of the traditional barbershop that serves up classic and modern haircuts and shaves.
Smith completed the three-minute film for his Photography II class and was shocked when it was chosen for the festival.
“It got picked up and I lost my mind,” Smith said.
Smith is from Blacklick, OH, and attended Licking Heights High School.
