CCAD students took home a total of 16 awards at the ADDYs on Feb. 27.

CCAD was well represented at the Columbus ADDYs, the industry’s largest and most representative competition, put on by the American Advertising Federation on Feb. 27.

Thirteen students took home a total of 16 awards for various projects, including, 14 Gold and Silver awards, one Judge’s Choice Award, and one Student Best of Show Award.

Student winners included Advertising & Graphic Design seniors Nigel Ewan from Columbus, OH, Haley Fischer from Lawrence, KS (Lawrence High School), Graham Fisher from Columbus, OH (Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center), Jordan Hoffman from Ottawa, OH (Ottawa-Glandorf High School), Jason Kocheran from Pataskala, OH, Natalie Krick from Novi, MI (Novi High School), Anna Marshall from Richburg, SC (Northwest School of the Arts), Nicole Londeree from Columbus, OH (Worthington Kilbourne High Sschool), Julia Stauble from Charlotte, NC (Northwest School of the Arts), John Steimle from Sagamore Hills, OH (Trinity High School), Casey Voss from Galion, OH (Galion High School), Danielle Williams from Sidney, OH (Versailles High School), and Brittany Zuerlein from Newport News, VA.

Jordan Hoffman took home one of three Judge’s Choice awards.

Two students took home Silver and Gold awards under the pseudonyms “Dan Dusty” and “Dustin Dangero” for their series of viral chalkboard art. The duo, better known as Dangerdust, has been featured in the Columbus Dispatch and the Huffington Post, among others.

Vital Companies took home two Silver awards for a video about the CCAD MFA program. The video was created in partnership with CCAD—Vital developed the initial concept and CCAD students shot hours of footage and produced the video, which Vital then edited for the final award-winning product.

Ologie, founded by alumna Bev Ryan, won a total of 14 awards, including Best of Show. Three of the Gold awards were for their work on CCAD’s 2013 Senior Fashion Show campaign, video, and look book.

Local Gold winners are entered into the AAF Fifth District ADDY competition, in which entries from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia compete to move on to the national competition.
