CCAD student Vincent Alexander’s cartoon appeared in the April issue of “Reader’s Digest”

Animation senior Vincent Alexander was named one of the Reader’s Digest Five Young Cartoonists to Watch For, bringing him closer to his lifelong dream of animating and publishing cartoon strips.

“Ultimately I would like to direct my own animated films and get my comic strips published,” Alexander said. “Working at an animation studio would be terrific, too.”

Alexander, who posts cartoons to his blog and Facebook every day, entered the contest after a friend encouraged him to check it out.

“I didn’t really expect to get in, but I decided to give it a try,” he said.

The contest, open to artists ages 14–23, recognized five artists and their cartoons in the April issue of Reader’s Digest and online. Alexander received $500 for his second place award-winning cartoon.

Alexander is from Carroll, OH.
