CCAD students and alumni are still in the limelight after sweeping the local Columbus ADDYs, the industry’s largest and most representative competition, put on by the American Advertising Federation in February.
Local winners went on to compete against entries from Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia at the district level, and several students and alumni came out on top.
The mysterious student duo Dangerdust was awarded a Gold Student ADDY for its inspirational chalkboard art. The two have since taken the cyber world by storm, receiving international recognition from the Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, and numerous blogs, local newspapers, and TV stations.
Fine Arts alumnus Chris Blain (CCAD 2014) and Advertising & Graphic Design alumnus Jason Kocheran (CCAD 2013) received a Silver Student ADDY for their rebrand of renowned shoe company Converse.
Ologie, founded by alumna Bev Ryan, was awarded six district ADDYs, three of which were from its work for the 2013 CCAD Senior Fashion Show. The local design firm received a Gold award for the Fashion Show lookbook, a Silver award for the Fashion Show video, and a Silver award for the overall 2013 Fashion Show campaign.
District winners will advance to the national competition.
Blain is from London, OH (London High School), and Kocheran is from Pataskala, OH.
