Alum’s Book Cover Illustration Wins Big in National Competition

Illustration alumnus Greg Swearingen (CCAD 1998) was awarded a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles for his cover illustration for Quinny & Hopper, a children’s chapter book released in June.

The award-winning illustration was included in the Society of Illustrators’ 52nd annual Illustration West exhibition, the largest juried illustration competition west of New York, at Center Stage Gallery in Burbank, CA.

Swearingen has illustrated more than 50 books and has participated in exhibitions throughout Ohio, New York, California, Utah, Idaho, and Washington state.

Swearingen attended DuBois Area Senior High School in DuBois, PA.
