				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) announced the recipients of their Supply Grants, and out of the 18 artists receiving the grants, seven are affiliated with CCAD.</p>
<p>The quarterly supply grants give artists in the community the opportunity to enhance their skills and create work that helps drive the vibrancy of the arts in Columbus and Franklin County. Applications are accepted monthly and are funded on a first-come, first-served basis.</p>
<p>Alumna Lisa Horkin (1985), alumna and adjunct instructor Susan Li  O&#8217;Connor (1996), alumna and adjunct faculty Anne Holman (2002), alumna Jennifer Deafenbough (2004), alumnus and adjunct faculty Joseph Lombardo (2006), alumnus and adjunct faculty Chris Harman (2012), and alumnus Jack Ramunni (2012) all received funding.</p>

<p>Each semester, the Honors Program at CCAD hosts a symposium where students and faculty present their semester&#8217;s work. This year it took place on May 7, starting with a reception for all CCAD faculty, staff, and students.</p>
<p>Work ranged from puppets to glass installations, and the projects came from two honors classes: Associate Professor Ariana-Sophia Kartsonis&#8217; <em>Ekphrasis: Art Begets Art</em> and MFA student Elena Harvey Collins&#8217; <em>Art as Social Practice</em>.</p>
<p>The following students showed their projects: Fine Arts seniors Jack Ramunni, Alejandro Bellizi, Krista Sison, Yezen Abusharkh, and Mary Nemeth; Media Studies senior Brian Liston; Fine Arts junior Eric Sherwood; Advertising &amp; Graphic Design junior Danielle Williams; Photography junior Derrick Whitson; Industrial Design sophomore Kelly Lee; and Fine Arts sophomores Esteban Gonzalez, Nicole Santos, and Hannah Mason-Macklin.</p>

<p>The cast of Sesame Street, Michael Jackson and Jack and Sally made an  appearance at CCAD’s annual Big Boo Halloween party Friday, Oct. 30.</p>
<p>Held  at BoMA, the festivities culminated in a spectacular costume contest  where CCAD students showed off the best of the best. The first-place  winner was Jack Ramunni and team, dressed as the cast of Sesame Street.  Dustin Horn took second place as the Mad Hatter; and coming in third with his Dead Mouse costume was Alexander Trimpe.</p>
