Her paper, Age of Second Dialect Acquisition and Linguistic Practice Across Ethno-racial Boundaries in the Urban Midwest, discussed a group study of linguistic behaviors and material styles of white women with significant cultural ties with African Americans.

NWAV is an annual sociolinguistics conference for researchers investigating the connections between language variation and societal relations, identities, and institutions.
