Hundreds of community leaders from the creative/business sector joined CCAD faculty, staff and students for a stirring lecture from Tom Kelley, general manager of IDEO and author of two books on innovation.

CCAD’s Business Advisory Council (BAC) brought the charismatic Kelley to speak to a full house in the college’s Canzani Center Auditorium on Nov. 4, 2009.

Kelley has earned respect in the global business community for helping corporate America leverage innovation. During his presentation, he discussed highlights from his recent book The Ten Faces of Innovation, and emphasized the importance of innovation to businesses who want to stay ahead in any economy. During a reception following the presentation, guests were able to mingle and meet the author who was never without a crowd of eager listeners.

Kelley’s visit was made possible through the generous support of BAC and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. Proceeds from the event went to CCAD’s general scholarship fund to support the next generation of innovative thinkers.
