Disability Support

Columbus College of Art & Design recognizes the importance of ensuring that every student, including those with disabilities, has access to all aspects of the educational experience within the CCAD community. Students who choose to provide documentation of a disability may be eligible for a variety of reasonable accommodations coordinated by the Learning Support Services office.

The first step in the process is to submit documentation of a disability to Learning Support Services. The links below provide specific guidelines for what must be included in the health professional's documentation.

Disability documentation may be mailed or faxed and should include the student's name and return address.

CCAD has a legal obligation based on Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to maintain confidentiality. The disability-related records kept in our office are strictly confidential and are not part of a student's academic record. Learning Support Services does not disclose information about a disability to anyone without a student's prior written consent.

Learning Support Services will send an email to your CCAD email account to confirm that your documentation has been received. Incoming students who do not yet have a CCAD email account will be notified via a letter sent to their home address.

To finalize the accommodations, you must schedule an appointment with Learning Support Services. Making arrangements for this appointment is your responsibility, not the responsibility of the Learning Support Services office.
