Degree Requirements & Courses
Current students should view their customized academic plans on Self Service for a listing of their required courses. If students find problems with their academic plans, they must notify their division advisor as soon as possible. Students should use their academic plans in conjunction with the course listings on Self Service to build their class schedule for each term.
Freshmen or future students may see the requirements for different majors by using the degree requirements feature on Self Service. After selecting their entering semester and year, students may choose a major and view the courses required.
All CCAD students must declare a major by the end of their first semester of enrollment. Students can attend the majors fair in the fall and consult with an advisor to help them with their decision. Students wishing to declare or change their major must fill out a Declare or Change a Major/Minor Form (PDF) and return it to the front desk at One-Stop Student Services.
The Self Service find course sections feature has the most up-to-date information regarding the course offerings for each academic term
Students can use this site to find:
- Course descriptions
- Instructors of courses
- Times and days of course sections
- If particular classes are open or closed
Students can use this in conjunction with their academic plans to determine exactly what courses they can take each term that will satisfy their degree requirements.
CCAD offers online courses, which are convenient, flexible, and allow students to set their own pace while continuing to allow for interaction between student and teacher, and student to student interaction. Courses taken online or hybrid courses in which part of your course is taken online make scheduling easy due to limited or no classroom time, limited scheduled meetings and self directed work.
