Visiting Artists Series
Thursday, March 14, 6:30 p.m.
Canzani Center Auditorium (map it)
Born in Jamaica, Nari Ward recently became a naturalized U.S. citizen. That process raised numerous questions about law and authority that have become major influences on his work—dramatic sculptural installations made of found material from his urban neighborhood in New York. Ward has received many awards and shown extensively, most recently in a solo show at Lehman Maupin Gallery in New York and group exhibitions at the Galeria Continua, Beijing and the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum, Boston. His work is included in the exhibition WALL.
