Langston Hughes Project

The Langston Hughes Project is a multimedia concert performance of Langston Hughes' poem “Ask Your Mama: Twelve Moods for Jazz.”
This twelve-part poem is Hughes' homage to the struggle for artistic and social freedom at the beginning of the 1960s. The piece is inspired by the music, movements, people, and places that Hughes experienced.
The performance is brought to life by the Ron McCurdy Quartet. McCurdy is a professor of music in the Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California. He has released two CDs “Once Again for the First Time” and "April In Paris.”
This event is free and open to the public, seating is limited
