Sarah Weinstock: Untitled, 2006-2007

I am inspired by my own instinctive reactions, and am interested in revealing such unseen forces in my materials. I explore systems and staged sets of constraints to see what kinds of moves are possible within them. There are always factors out of my control that guide my marks.

I am fascinated by unseen influences, such as evolution and how it shapes behavior. I am interested in inherent possibilities, and how outcomes can be vastly different under similar circumstances, and how these differing outcomes give a clearer picture of the unseen parameters of the system.
