Aniket Vardhan, industrial & interior design assistant professor, teaches three-dimensional modeling and CADD-related courses. He has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, and an MFA in industrial design from Rochester Institute of Technology. He has worked on projects ranging from architecture and interior design to industrial products, transport design, and guitars.

Ernest Viveiros, fine arts professor, teaches anatomy and structure, painting, and figure drawing. His work has appeared in group and solo exhibitions including exhibitions at the Butler Institute of American Art and the Chicago International Art Expo. He received a BFA from Southwestern Massachusetts University and an MFA from Southern Illinois University, where he taught drawing and design.

Arthur Chun Wang, fine arts associate professor, received his formal education in both China and the United States where he graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His work has been exhibited in China, the United States, Chile, Japan, Mexico, and Spain. Many of his works are held in private and public collections, including The China National Museum of Fine Arts in Beijing, the University of Colorado, and the Ohio State House. He is a recipient of an individual Artist Fellowship from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Kimberly Waters-Burghy, foundation studies adjunct instructor, is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator and owns an event decorating company called Designed 4-U, which caters to the design and implementation of props and interior décor. Mrs. Burghy has served as art director for several companies in the Columbus area. She also has worked as a portrait photographer. Mrs. Burghy received a BFA in illustration with an emphasis in advertising and photography from CCAD.

Randy Wax, visual communications adjunct instructor, received a BFA in advertising design from CCAD. His work has earned numerous awards from organizations including Ohio Designs the Arts and the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts, and has been used in promotional materials for the Strathmore Paper Company. Mr. Wax has worked as an art director at the National Center for Vocational Education at The Ohio State University, WDHO-TV, Toledo, Michi Designs Inc., and was a partner in the design studio, communiGraphics. He founded Wax Design Associates, a company he operated until selling it in 1998. He is currently director of marketing at King Thompson, Realtor, Columbus.

James Weigle, professor in fine arts division, teaches lithography and relief printmaking,and manages the papermaking studio. He maintains a studio on Cape Cod and is represented by galleries in Provincetown MA. His artwork is in many private collections and the permanent collection of the National Football Hall of Fame, the 2003 Korean Contemporary Print Association’s International exhibition in Seoul, South Korea, 2007 Chinese International Print Work Studio, Xi’an Academy of Fine Art in Xi’an, China. He has printed professionally for artists in New York at Solo Press and Atelier Ettinger and holds certification as Tamarind Institute Professional Printer, the University of New Mexico 1983; BFA 1980 Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA; MFA 1982 Pennsylvania State University State College.

Bonnie Weir, foundation studies adjunct instructor, teaches two-dimensional design and color concept.  Ms. Weir coordinates the Fundamental School program at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center and instructs drawing and painting.  She is a noted fine artist and educator for over 20 years, her work is represented in numerous private and corporate collections.  Ms. Weir’s commercial work includes over 40 commemorative watercolor illustrations and designs for The Wm. Graystone and Wyandotte Wineries and various dance organizations in the Midwest. Ms. Weir recently completed a solo exhibition “The Floating World”. She earned a BFA in advertising design from CCAD and MA in Visual Arts from Antioch University McGregor with a focus on college core curriculum, feminism and postmodern critique.

Patrick L. Welch, associate professor in foundation studies, teaches three dimensional design and structural drawing courses. Mr. Welch was an art director for 17 years at Merrill Publishing and has been an architectural illustrator for 25 years. He earned a BA in Liberal Arts from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, IN., BFA from CCAD in Fine Arts and a BFA from CCAD in Advertising Design.

Zac Welch, media studies adjunct instructor, teaches interactive/time-based design. He has an MFA from Parsons School of Design in design and technology. Mr. Welch’s work includes roles as producer for CompuServe’s CD-ROM magazine, senior designer for Playboy.com, visual effects artist for Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Productions and creative director of Ezz-Thetic Media. He has also served as featured designer for the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, The New York Center for New Design, and the indie film collective, Reel Independents. He wrote, directed, and produced an independent film, Blood and Ashes, which was shown in New York City in 2001.

Clay White, visual communications adjunct instructor, teaches courses in Photoshop and advanced creative imaging. He has been a commercial photographer for 30 years and has been involved with the development and teaching of electronic-imaging technologies since their inception. He enjoys a national reputation in this field through various speaking engagements and his studio’s digital and conventional work. Mr. White received his AAS in electronics from DeVry Institute of Technology and a BS in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Tom Williamson, industrial & interior design assistant professor, received his BA in history and his MBA from George Washington University, and his BSID from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Williamson has worked in manufacturing management and retail management. His professional design experience includes human factors consulting and retail-fixture design.

Christopher A. Yates, assistant professor of art in foundation studies, teaches color concept, principles of design and color, and fine arts thesis.  Occasionally, he has been called upon to teach lithography, two-dimensional design, and drawing.  Mr. Yates exhibits his mixed-media constructions throughout Ohio.  He contributes art reviews to regional publications and is regularly featured in the Columbus Dispatch.  Before coming to CCAD, Mr. Yates taught painting and drawing at the Universidad de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.  In addition, he taught drawing at Ohio Wesleyan University and two-dimensional design, drawing, and western art history at Tiffin University.  He earned a BFA from CCAD, an MFA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and an MLS from Kent State University.

Dana Zager, liberal arts adjunct instructor, teaches art therapy. She has worked as a registered art therapist since 1989 and is a licensed independent social work and certified group psychotherapist. Ms. Zager has an MA in art therapy from Vermont College, a Master of social work from The Ohio State University, and a BFA from Washington University.
