Questions and answers
- What form do I use to apply for financial aid?
- If you applied for federal student aid for the previous award
year, you probably will be able to file a Renewal Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Renewal forms are mailed to you directly
from the federal government. If you did not apply for federal student
aid for the previous school year, you can apply by completing and
submitting the FAFSA, which is available at the Student Services Center
in the Loann Crane Center for Design.
- Will I need additional forms to apply for financial aid?
- CCAD requires a verification statement and copies of the parent's
and student's 1040s for the prior year. You will be sent information
regarding this once we have received the results of your federal form.
- When do I apply?
- Students applying for campus-based assistance (Perkins Loan, Work-Study
Employment, and SEOG grant) must turn in their FAFSA by March 3, 2006.
All other students must turn in the FAFSA by June 2, 2006. Please
contact the Student Services Center for specific program deadlines.
- What is CCAD's Title IV code?
- 003039, you must use this number in order for us to receive the
results of your FAFSA.

- How do I become "independent?"
- Students are not considered independent by the federal government
unless they meet one of the following criteriage 24, ward of the
court, married, has a dependent of their own, or is a veteran of the
armed forces.
- What is an ISIR?
- The ISIR is the electronic student aid report that CCAD receives
from the government after the student files the federal form.
- What is work-study employment and how do I receive it?
- Work study is a program in which a student can work up to 15 hours
a week on campus and receive a paycheck. To be considered for this
program, a student must meet the priority deadline for financial aid
(March 3) and have exceptional need. Work study will be awarded to
those students demonstrating the highest level of need. CCAD also
has a student employment program in which students can apply for on-campus
employment if they are not eligible for work study.
- When will I know how much financial aid I will receive?
- Students who meet the priority deadline will receive an award
notice from the CCAD within two weeks of the deadline date. All other
students will be awarded once their file has been reviewed by financial
aid staff.
- Who is not eligible for financial aid?
- Students who have not been formally admitted through the CCAD
Admissions process are considered "nondegree seeking" students,
and are not eligible for financial aid. International students
are not eligible for federal financial aid.

- How do I complete the verification statement?
- CCAD requires 100% verification of all applicants. Once we receive
the federal form from the government, we will send the parent or independent
student a verification statement to be completed. All information
that is checked on the form must be completed. Incomplete forms will
not be accepted. Please be sure to sign all appropriate lines on this
form.
- Do I have to reapply for financial aid each year?
- Yes. Financial aid applicants must complete the federal form each
academic year in order to be considered for federal aid. Please contact
the Financial Aid Office each year for the deadline date.
- How do I make corrections on my FAFSA?
- In order to process any changes on the FAFSA, the student must
re-submit changes to the government. The student can either make these
changes on the paper student aid report or submit the changes to CCAD
for electronic submission.
- How do I contact CCAD's Financial Aid staff?
- You can write to CCAD Student Services Center, Attn: Financial
Aid, 107 N. Ninth St., Columbus, OH 43215; call 614.222.3295 or e-mail.
