Advertising & Graphic Design Overview

The focus of Advertising and Graphic Design is to educate professional designers who are sensitive to contemporary images, alert to design history, and able to create work that is clear, aesthetically appealing, and persuasive.

From basic type fonts to the most advanced concepts in electronic publishing, you'll learn the art of visual communication—creating images that brand companies, sell products, and influence ideas. In this program you'll apply communication theory, artistry and technical skills to answer the question "what makes an audience feel, think, or act in a specific way?"

One-on-one interaction with experienced faculty can both nurture and challenge your artistic growth. In-class critiques sharpen your creative vision, and team projects will help hone your skills for the work place.

The program exposes you to the possibilities intrinsic to mass media, animation, technology, and Web design. To keep up with the latest advances you'll have opportunities to further sharpen your skills outside the classroom with internship opportunities, freelance work and participation in professional organizations.

You can also apply to join CCAD's Design Group, which accepts projects as an in-house agency. Prepared for today's dynamic workspace, CCAD graduates work as independent designers and for companies throughout the United States and abroad as creative directors, multimedia designers, and Web masters — and that just scratches the surface.
