About the residence hall

Schottenstein Residence Hall was built in 1986 and has functioned as a residence hall from its inception. A director of residence life and 10 resident assistants (RA) staff the residence halls.

Unit furnishings:

  • Free local phone service (one phone number per suite)
  • Free broadband Internet connection (one Ethernet ports per person, four per suite)
  • Single bed
  • Wardrobe
  • Work desk
  • Stool
  • Storage for personal items
  • Individual lockbox
  • Waste baskets

Residence hall provides:

  • Residence life staff
  • Card operated laundry facility (cards can be purchased in the laundry room)
  • Ventilated spray booth
  • Common lounge with cable TV and VCR
  • Full-service dining hall

Student provides:

  • Pillows
  • Blankets
  • Bed Linens (75" long/normal twin size)
  • Clothes hangers
  • Alarm clock
  • Telephone, answering machine (if desired)
  • Soap
  • Desk lamp
  • Light cooking accessories
  • Mini-refrigerator (4.0 cubic feet max.)
  • One microwave per suite
  • 60 watt light bulbs
  • Toilet tissue
  • Headphones for stereo
  • Towels
  • Toiletries

Students are welcome to bring bicycles and bike locks. CCAD provides bike racks in front of the Schottenstein Residence Hall.

Student may not bring:

  • Candles or incense
  • Weight lifting equipment
  • Pets (only fish in a 10 gallon or less aquarium are permitted)
  • Large compressed air containers
  • Weapons (including martial arts)
  • Additional furniture
  • Alcohol or drugs
  • Empty or decorative alcohol containers
