INDUSTRIAL NEWS & EVENTSCCAD ID students Pass the Ball
The sophomore industrial design class was challenged with developing wacky head gear that addressed a broad range of activities reminiscent of Rude Goldberg. Each student was tasked to receive a racquet ball from a fellow classmate, trigger a complicated activity and then pass the ball off to the next student, all without touching the ball. Add to this scenario the need to develop a theme plus a materials limitation and you get some very creative results. Click here to view the project outline. Team Kier takes Dean's Cup 2007
Once again industrial design sophomores headed out to professor Gundlach's residence—Camp Gundlach—for the annual Dean's Cup competition. Each team was tasked with designing and fabricating boats from cardboard for the purpose of competing in three events. The students were given 90 minutes to build their designs the day of the competition. Following lunch the two teams competed and this year Team Kier won for the first time in three years. |
