Omar Noory
Major: Advertising & Graphic Design
Rank: Senior
Hello, my name is Omar Noory and I’m from Loveland, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati). I’m currently a senior at CCAD majoring in Advertising and Graphic Design. Even through all the late nights and hard work, I can look back fondly at the three years I’ve already put in. Mostly though, I find myself looking forward towards my final year of school and preparing for a career. I feel like CCAD has definitely made me ready and confident for that next step.
At first I was on the fence about going to an art school. Like many high school seniors, I was unsure of both where I wanted to spend the next four years of life and also what kind of major to pursue. I visited a few universities in and around Ohio but I didn’t feel a connection with any of them. CCAD was the last school I visited, and what almost instantly won me over was all the student artwork on the walls. I wanted to become as good as these students, and I knew the way to do it was to become a CCAD student myself.
I came into the school more interested in digital design, so my drawing and painting background was pretty weak. This made the freshmen foundation year (which focuses primarily on drawing and painting) daunting, to say the least. I made it through the first year though, and I’ve become a much more well rounded artist because of it, something I feel I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else.
I’m currently working as a member of the CCAD Design Group. We’re in charge of admissions projects including this very website. My whole experience at this school has been great. I’ve met some great and talented friends and faculty and grown so much as an artist and a professional. I feel ready for whatever else may come my way.
