Continuing and Professional Studies Faculty Biographies

Chris Alan Barr is a fourth-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. He is an art educator for the Columbus Public Schools and has worked with elementary, middle school and high school students. BA, Ohio State University; MA, Marygrove College.

Carrie Bowman

Myllesent Carreno is a ninth-grade drawing instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. Her work includes fine art, sculpture, drawing, and freelance graphic design and is in private and public venues in Central Ohio. She currently exhibits in Columbus and is the owner of MylesantStudios. Her illustrations have been published by Ohio State University's Keep Books. She is working on a children's book as well as her teaching certificate from Notre Dame College. BFA, CCAD.

Esther Chung is a fashion instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. She is a local independent fashion designer focusing on draped garments and knitwear for men and women. She is the recipient of the 2002 Emmanuel Ungaro Marshal Fields scholarship and the 2003 winner of the Styles Scotland international design competition. She is certified and trained on Husqvarna Viking sewing machines. BFA, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Deborah Harpster Correa is a fifth-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. She also teaches creative workshops at her church and in the community and has organized the Cultivating Growth Group show in Columbus. BFA, CCAD.

Christine D'Epiro is a first-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes Program. She creates playful works on paper as well as large-scale installations. Previously, she was a year-long artist-in-residence at the Luminary Center for the Arts in St. Louis, MO. Derrick Ross Ehlen is a seventh-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. He teaches in the visual and performing arts department at Westerville Central High School and received a teaching certificate from Ohio Dominican University. BFA, CCAD.

Abigail Fisher is a drawing instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes and Creative Summer Workshops programs. She has taught arts-based community programs to adults and to students in public and private elementary, middle, and high schools. Her work is in private collections and has been exhibited in group shows throughout Ohio. BFA, CCAD.

Jennifer Gillette is an instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. She works as creative classroom consultant for the Columbus Museum of Art and
continues to show as a studio artist. BFA, Ohio State University.

Anne Holman is an instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. She teaches jewelry/metals. Her work as a studio jewelry artist has been featured in fashion columns and magazines in the U.S. and internationally. She exhibits her work regionally and throughout the U.S. BFA, CCAD. Lisa McLymont is a multi-disciplinary artist, designer, teacher, entrepreneur, and passionate community arts volunteer. She is very active in the local arts scene and is involved with other art organizations such as 400 West Rich, Wonderland, and CAW (The Creative Arts of Women). She regularly commits her consulting time to support agencies she believes in, and shares her design, wordpress, and web building knowledge with a myriad of local artists and micro businesses. Lisa serves as the Marketing Chair on the board for the Ohio Art League, and was a recipient of a 2010 OSU Arts Initiative Fellowship. Her new studio is at 400, located in the Franklinton District. Neils Neilson is an instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. He teaches painting. BFA, CCAD.

Shawn Patrick O'Brien is an instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. He teaches digital photography and Adobe Photoshop. He has worked on photo and video projects for some of the top names in the entertainment, fashion, and music industries, including The Aveda Institute, Mary J. Blige, Baby Gangsta, P. Diddy (Sean Combs), BET/MPR, Victoria's Secret Pink, Chimaira, and Time Warner Cable. BFA, CCAD.

Michelle O'Sullivan is an instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes and Creative Summer Workshops programs. Her personal work involves two dimensional mixed media pieces. She works with a variety of populations in the private and public sectors of education and holds a teaching license from the state of Ohio in art education K-12. BA, Ohio State University.

Jamie Rapp is a first-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. She recently started her own business making children's apparel and previously taught elementary art. BFA, CCAD

Rodney Reese is a ninth-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes and Creative Summer Workshops programs. He teaches 3D illustration. He works as a freelance sculptor, puppeteer and prop builder. His clients include Frigidaire, the Columbus Zoo, Grange Insurance Co., Columbia Gas, Just-Think-Inc. and Excel Design Group. Brenda Mickie Roberts is an instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. She teaches basic drawing. Her work is in private collections in California, Florida, and Ohio. She does commission works for individuals and groups, including Nationwide Children's Hospital Family Advisory Council's annual award of excellence, and Ohio Health Cancer Services. Christine Salisbury is a third- and fourth-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes and Creative Summer Workshops programs. Her professional accomplishments include fashion illustration instruction at The Wellington School, creative consultant for Limited Brands, faux finishing artist, and auto CAD drafter. She is founder of the online boutique ChristineCecelia. BFA, CCAD.

Christopher Stankovich, Ph.D., is an instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. He is the founder of Advanced Human Performance Systems, and offers educational consulting, individual counseling, and organization training services to improve people's overall wellness, health, and performance levels as applied to athletic, academic, career, and/or life experiences. His current core areas of research and teaching include sport and health psychology, the psychology of the creative process, and the dynamics pertaining to effective leadership. Nicki Strouss is a ninth-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. She teaches ceramics. Her jewelry and ceramics have appeared in numerous solo and group shows in Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey and Italy. She also is a certified yoga instructor. BFA, CCAD. Mark Taggart is a drawing instructor in the Continuing & Professional Studies program. He studied with New Realist painters Jack Beal, Martha Meyer Erlebacher, and Alfred Leslie and previously taught undergraduate painting, drawing, and 2-D design focusing on observational and anatomical drawing. Andy Watson is a second-grade instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes program. He is an industrial designer specializing in metal and has participated in the fabrication of parts for many local and national companies, including AT&T, Cheryl's Cookies, and Mt. Carmel Hospitals. In addition, he helped produce the walkway for the U.S. government space program that the shuttle astronauts used to gain access to the spacecraft.

Dorenda Crager Watson is an instructor in the Saturday Morning Art Classes and Creative Summer Workshops programs. She teaches grades two through 12. Her specialty is trompe l'oeil painting using wildlife and still life for her subject matter in the tradition of the Magic Realists. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
