Programs of Study

College PreView

For Grades 10-12
July 10 - July 30, 2016

If you’re a high school student considering a future in art and design, College PreView will make your decision clear - and earn you three college credits. You'll be able to experience any of our majors as you participate in classes, workshops and activities all taught by our talented faculty and staff. In and out of the classroom, you'll have opportunities to meet and collaborate with other emerging artists and designers from all across the country. You'll live in one of our residence halls, experience campus and the Columbus community - just like a full-time student.

Major and Minor Studies

Each student will select one of our majors to center their studies during their experience. This provides students with focused, foundational understanding of specific tracks or media within the specialty. Additionally, students will choose to minor in any of our majors. Students will spend more than half of their class time in these intensive sessions. Each of the majors will be limited to 12 seats.

List of Majors:

Advertising & Graphic Design History of Art & Visual Culture
Animation Illustration
Cinematic Arts Industrial Design
Fashion Design Interior Design
Fine Arts Photography

Collaborative Workshops

Collaborative Workshops are a big part of your College PreView experience. In them, you’ll work as a team on real-world art and design challenges leading toward your capstone presentation. All students participate in six Collaborative workshops.

Studio Time and Evening Activities

Each day, you will have studio time for homework or to explore the skills and techniques demonstrated in class. Evening and weekend plans may include CCAD faculty lectures, off campus outings and film screenings. All students participate in social events and studio time to share their experiences with each other and make connections between the programs.
