Charles Palmer, adjunct instructor, Liberal Arts, teaches business with a focus on contemporary business practices. He has more than 20 years experience in retail and consumer consulting. He began his career as a merchant at Crate & Barrel and Macy's West, where he graduated from the executive training program. He has served as a strategist and consultant at Retail Planning Associates (RPA), and Fitch Worldwide. C.F. Payne, instructor, chair, Illustration, teaches illustration. He has a distinctive illustrative style that has earned him the reputation as Norman Rockwell’s successor. His work is featured in many U.S. magazines, including Time, Esquire, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Book Review, Mad Magazine, and Reader's Digest. He exhibits widely, juries national shows and serves on boards for illustrators' organizations.  Tamara Peterson, associate professor, chair, Foundation Studies, teaches painting, color theory, two-dimensional design and illustration. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited regionally, nationally, and internationally, including the Butler Institute of American Art Midyear Exhibition and the 2008 Contemporary American Realism Biennial at Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Kon Petrochuk, professor, Media Studies and Graduate Studies, teaches film, video, photography, and digital video. He has screened work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Cinematheque in San Francisco, and the Contemporary Media Center in Dayton. His major projects include If I Scratch, If I Write, a 16mm film about Cleveland poet, d.a. levy, and Two Unknown Photographers, which screened at the Sundance Film Festival and Maryland Film Festival.  Richard Petry, professor, Media Studies and Graduate Studies, director of graduate program development and implementation, teaches Media Studies portfolio and advanced digital imaging. He has worked in both commercial and fine art photography, as well as film, performance, and sculpture, and recently has produced films and video integrated with dance performances. A recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, an Ohio Arts Council Fellowship, and a Greater Columbus Arts Council Individual Artist Grant, he has exhibited throughout the U.S. and in India and Europe. His images are part of the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Columbus Museum of Art, The Ohio State University, and numerous private and corporate collections.  Djahangir Pirasteh, professor, Fine Arts, teaches drawing, painting, watercolor, and anatomy. He has exhibited his work in solo and group shows in the U.S. and internationally, including at the annual conference of the Center for Iranian Research and Analysis; Villanova University (received international mention); and St. Cloud State University (received an honorable mention award and earned him membership to the President’s Club). Peter Rasmussen, professor, Fine Arts, teaches sculpture. He has exhibited his work in group shows and juried exhibitions. His work is included in a number of public and private collections, including Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum, Bank One, and the Builders' Exchange. Thomas Richner, assistant professor, Animation, teaches animation and time-based media. He specializes in traditional, hand-drawn animation. His professional work includes layout artist and timer on "The Simpsons" for six seasons. In additional to producing his own short films, which have screened at festivals around the U.S., he continues to work with animation industry professionals in Hollywood to develop and pitch animated properties primarily for television.  Tim Rietenbach, professor, Foundation Studies, Fine Arts, and Graduate Studies, teaches two dimensional design, sculpture and fine arts junior seminar. He has served as the Visiting Artist coordinator, chair of Foundation Studies, and is currently the director of student exhibitions. He spent more than a decade living, working and exhibiting in New York City. He was twice a MacDowell Fellow, and invited to the Chateau Rochefort-en-Tere artist residency program in France. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the U.S., including the Butler Institute of American Art, the Chateau Museum in Rochefort-en-Tere, France; the Springfield Museum of Art; the Carnegie Center for the Visual Arts; the MacDowell Colony; and at Moorehead University and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
