Chris Harman

Master of Fine Arts

Chris Harman started working with glass in 1993 to help out a friend in the hot shop; that was all it took for him to forget about being a painter. After attending the Columbus College of Art & Design from 1991 to 1995, he spent 6 years working at a tattoo studio. Glass never really left his mind, however; so in 2001, he began making his own production work and attending art/craft fairs. In 2008, Chris received his BFA in glass, with honors, from The Ohio State University. He completed a residency at Hiroshi Yamano's studio; Ezra Glass; in Fukui, Japan in 2009, and went on to pursue his Masters of Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art & Design's then new MFA program. Since completing his MFA in 2012, Chris has gone on to teach Design and Glass Survey at the CCAD, and you can often find him in the glass studio.
