Illustration alumna's talent is no fantasy

Bernadette Carstensen (Illustration, ’10) has been awarded one of three full-ride scholarships to attend IlluXCon in Altoona, PA in November. The third annual symposium features the largest gathering of original art in the fantasy/sci-fi genre, as well as an educational symposium. The scholarships, awarded to the best students in the field, are funded by the sale of donated art created at the previous year’s event.

The 2010 event is Nov. 11-14 and includes nearly 60 artists in the main exhibition. Several hundred original paintings and drawings will be on display at the show, along with demonstrations, lectures, round tables, art director portfolio reviews, and a live bronze pour.
