The Columbus Cultural Arts Center's latest exhibition is titled to pose a question to artists and visitors alike: You Call That Art?

Opening Oct. 5, the show featuring several CCAD alumni and faculty will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1913 International Exhibition of Modern Art, also known as the Armory Show, in New York City. That groundbreaking exhibition introduced modernism to America with pieces by Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Picasso, and Matisse.

Adjunct Instructor of Liberal Arts and alumna Georgia Tangi (CCAD 1967) planned and researched the theme and content of the show.

More than 100 major works by Ohio artists will be featured in the exhibition, including 2D, 3D, and interactive pieces.

CCAD participants include Fine Arts alumnus and Professor Tim Rietenbach (CCAD 1977) from Columbus, OH, Fine Arts alumnus and Foundation Studies Adjunct Instructor Joseph Lombardo (CCAD 2006) from Columbus, OH (Midview High School), Fine Arts alumna Annica Damico (CCAD 2012) from New Albany, OH (Bellbrook High School), retired Fine Arts Professor Bruce Robinson (CCAD 1977-2010), Liberal Arts Adjunct Instructor Carol Boram-Hays, and Fine Arts Adjunct Instructor Andrea Myers.

The exhibition will open Oct. 5 with a reception from 6–9 p.m. and will run through Nov. 9, with free events each Saturday in October. For more information, visit The Columbus Cultural Arts Center.
