2020 MFA Thesis Exhibition | Autumn Cadle
Thanks for your interest in the 2020 MFA Thesis Exhibition. CCAD is committed to the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and other members of the community. Following the guidance of state and government officials, we have canceled the exhibition’s in-person presentation.
There will soon be home to a virtual presentation of our second-year MFA students’ work.
To be notified of when the website is populated with their work, please sign up for our exhibitions and events newsletter at this link.
See emerging artists' work at the annual CCAD MFA Thesis Exhibition. The MFA candidates’ works span a number of different genres such as painting, sculpture, photography, video, illustration, and animation.
This event is free and open to the public.
Referencing familiar forms from gardening and farming, sculpted rows of raw earth are placed in the gallery, disrupting its expected pristine nature. Time and my constant tending will reveal the small dormant lives that exist within the soil as I walk among them: watering, tending, caring. Inadvertent plants can be found everywhere, without any help from, and in spite of, human interactions. This work results from months of experimentation, as I questioned what happens when the unintended is nurtured intentionally.
