I am a sculptor who is interested in the way unexpected pairings of glass, steel, and fiber come together to form something that is simultaneously stable and precarious. The way these objects interact with each other to cause dynamic moments of tension, leaving the viewer uncomfortable and wondering if or how the piece will survive. Steel plates cut into glass bubbles, sheets of glass slump into spiked metal cradles, and strings thread their way to surround my sculptures and weave themselves into a web that struggles to hold pieces up, confines their growth, and connects them like parts of a puzzle.
