Metamorphosis: A CCAD MFA Exhibition

See work by Columbus College of Art & Design’s first- and second-year MFA candidates in Metamorphosis: A CCAD MFA Exhibition, on view May 13–Saturday, June 4, in the Bridge Gallery presented by Franklinton Arts District at 400 West Rich.

The show features work by seven Master of Fine Arts students and is named for the artworks’ common theme of metamorphosis. Whether through the spiritual journey of loved ones’ illnesses, finding the strength to leave a war-torn homeland, or the ritual of putting on and taking off makeup, each artist explores their—or viewers’—transition from one form to another.

CCAD artists with work in the show are:

  • Jonathan Lohr (MFA, 2023), assemblages using reclaimed materials and fiber
  • Joshua Morgan (MFA, 2022), paintings and weavings
  • Carmen Ostermann (MFA, 2022), porcelain sculptures and embroidery
  • Hedi Sharifzadeh Shirazi (MFA, 2023), 3D foam sculptures
  • Haley Sipsock (MFA, 2022), modular photography
  • Mia Smith (MFA, 2022), ceramics and installation using makeup wipes
  • Joey Wallace (MFA, 2023), graffiti wall and nontraditional weaving

In addition to the opening, guests can schedule private appointments to see the exhibition via the Franklinton Arts District website.
