I am an artist whose paintings and sculptures question the boundary between instinct and control. Exploring the temporal and geographical nature of human emotion through the lens of realism, abstraction and expressionism, I privilege human emotion over physical perfection, creating a surface of textured layers that draw the viewer’s eyes to the subject. Using bold brush strokes to express energy and a somber and a complementary color palette to provide a sense of calm, I create a meditative state in which viewers can examine the nature of morality and determine the subjectivity of instinct and control for themselves.

Why you makes me feel like this. 2017. 55′ x 44′ x 2. Mixed media on Canvas.
