Visiting Scholar: Masande Ntshanga

Novelist and writer Masande Ntshanga visits the Columbus College of Art & Design to discuss his debut novel The Reactive, which has just been published in North America by Columbus independent press Two Dollar Radio. Ntshanga was raised in South Africa, and Cape Town is the setting for The Reactive, a novel about three friends who drift in and out of low-paying jobs, drug deals (anti-retroviral drugs in the days before they were widely distributed to HIV/AIDS patients in South Africa) and parties. Ntshanga has been widely hailed as an exciting emerging voice in literature.

Ntshanga will talk at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Canzani Center Auditorium at Columbus College of Art & Design (60 Cleveland Ave.). The event is part of the Beeler Gallery Visiting Artists & Scholars Series and is free and open to the public.
