Experience Art

Experience art at CCAD

At Columbus College of Art & Design, the act of creativity and forming a lasting appreciation for art and design isn’t limited to the classroom or studio. Our campus at the core of Columbus’ thriving downtown is a hub for artists and designers, creatives, makers, thinkers, and others. Here are some of the destinations, events, and goods we have that will enable you to connect with contemporary art and design here and around the globe.

Beeler Gallery

Beeler Gallery at Columbus College of Art & Design is an active site for contemporary art practices and contingent fields. With an experimental public programming of exhibitions, commissions, performances, residencies, workshops, lectures, conversations, and screenings, it is dedicated to enlarging and rethinking the unique role of a gallery within the context of a school of art and design. Beeler Gallery features a 6,000-square-foot exhibition space and a 99-seat screening room, and hosts the annual Columbus College of Art & Design MFA and BFA thesis exhibitions. Student Galleries

CCAD has three student galleries used primarily for senior exhibitions in the Fine Arts Thesis program. Each Fine Arts major completes a capstone experience in the form of a solo exhibition. This exhibition displays the student’s thesis final portfolio of work for one week in one of our galleries, including a closing celebration on that Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. To allow as much development time as possible, most thesis shows occur in the second half of the spring semester.

More about the student galleries here.

Visiting Artists & Scholars

CCAD brings in a number of guest artists and scholars every semester. These artists teach workshops and seminars, engage in one-on-one mentoring and studio visits with graduate and undergraduate students, and lecture as part of CCAD’s Visiting Artists & Scholars series—a lecture series that is free and open to the public.

CCAD Art Fair

Meet the makers changing the face of art and design.

A juried selection of Columbus College of Art & Design's top alumni and students sell their wares at this must-see event. Proceeds from the art go directly to the artists.
