C.F. Payne, Distinguished Professor, Illustration, Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD).

C.F. Payne teaches illustration styles and concepts. Payne has a distinctive style and has illustrated several Time magazine covers, including the portrait of President Barack Obama featured on the inauguration issue in 2009. His work is featured in many U.S. magazines, including Esquire, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Book Review, Mad Magazine, and Reader's Digest. He exhibits widely, juries national shows and serves on boards for illustrators' organizations. He illustrates children’s books, including True Heart, written by Marissa Moss, Micawber and The Remarkable Farkle McBride, written by John Lithgow, Late for School, by Steve Martin, and the bestselling Mousetronaut, written by astronaut Mark Kelly. His artwork has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Society of Illustrators Museum of American Illustration, the Selby Gallery at Ringling College of Art and Design, and numerous college and university galleries.
