CCAD professor’s work added to CMA’s permanent collection

CCAD Professor Tim Rietenbach's Us

Columbus College of Art & Design Fine Arts Professor Tim Rietenbach has a new work in the permanent collection of the Columbus Museum of Art.

Rietenbach’s Us was installed this week in one of the upper-level galleries in the new Margaret M. Walter Wing.

The piece, which Rietenbach made in 2015 with spray paint and canvas, marks Rietenbach’s first work to be included in the museum’s permanent collection.

The museum acquired the work, which measures 80 inches in diameter, from his show, Sold Out, at Angela Meleca Gallery.

Rietenbach, who has worked at CCAD since 1991 and grew up in central Ohio, said he’s thrilled to have a piece in his hometown museum.

“It’s a milestone for me.”
