Anna Soter, Ph.D., is Adjunct Professor in Liberal Arts/ESL Writing at CCAD, joining the CCAD community in fall, 2017. She earned a B.Arts in English & Modern History University of Western Australia/Perth/Australia; M.Arts in English Literature and Language, University of Sydney/Australia; Ph.D. University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (Education/Applied Linguistics/Discourse Analysis Methodology).
At CCAD she teaches ESL College English: Writing/Art/Design (LIBA 1281) and also currently teaching a new course – ESL for the Art and Design Professional (LIBA 4071/5081).
Anna was Professor in English Education (Language and Literature) at OSU from 1986-2012. Her academic publications focused the use of literary theory in the teaching of young adult literature; cross-cultural written discourse analysis (contrastive rhetoric), and more recently on intersections between language as a field of energy; /metaphor/states of mind and wellbeing. She continues to serve on the Medicine and the Arts Boards at OSU and founded The Hospital Poets (2011), a program to bring poetry to Medical/Health professionals at the Wexner Medical Ctr/OSU.
