Michael Tyler II joined CCAD as the Director of Marketing in 2021. As the Director of Marketing, Michael applies his decades of experience in digital media, marketing, PR, and research strategies to strengthen CCAD’s branding, marketing, website, and social media strategies.

Michael’s previous experience includes marketing and/or digital strategy roles with the American Red Cross, Oakwood Management Company, Vineyard Columbus, and Cox Media Group.

Aside from his duties here at CCAD, Michael is a major advocate for education, primarily in the areas of journalism, media, and cultural history, as well as volunteers throughout the city for various causes. Michael is also on the Diversity Leadership Council for the American Red Cross and serves on numerous publicity and publishing committees for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. One of Michael’s greatest accomplishments was delivering opening remarks to Congressman John Lewis in Alabama.

Michael earned an Associate’s degree in Multimedia Technologies from Pittsburgh Technical Institute, a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications & Journalism from Central State University, a Master’s degree in Humanities/African-American History from Wright State University, and is a FAA-licensed drone pilot.

Michael resides in Galloway with his wife, Colleen, and his two daughters, Embree and Averie.
