Alumna featured in popular, weekly 'Shop Talk'

Alumna Lisa Ohmer (associate 1990), owner of European Papers in Columbus, was recently interviewed in the Columbus Dispatch’s weekly section Shop Talk.

Ohmer’s store combines an art-supply store, gift shop, and gallery—with space for workshops. “We offer materials for artists concentrating on collage and bookbinding—alternative arts," Ohmer said. "So you'll find jewelry, tiny metal pieces, pressed flowers, ribbons, ... basically anything you can't find in a normal art store."

Ohmer sells all over the world through her shop's website, but some of her most familiar clients are CCAD students. "They're usually looking for unusual materials for their projects for class. They do a little bookbinding. ... They'll buy a lot of the funky steampunk stuff—anything they think is interesting. One kid who comes in told us we're his secret weapon, which is kind of fun."
