Creative Summer Workshops are weeklong hands-on courses at CCAD for students in grades 1-12, offering opportunities for students interested in art to develop their skills in a creative and mentoring environment. Younger grades explore the hues and values of color, storytelling and modeling, botanical art, paper toys, printmaking and more. Students in grades 5-8 discover the foundations of drawing, painting, digital media, mini comics and flipbook animation. Students in grades 7-9 look deeper into animation, digital photography, fashion design, expressive drawing, ceramics and stop-motion animation.
CCAD Discovery Club is a weeklong residential program for talented and creative students in grades 7-9 who would like to see what it’s like to attend a great art and design college. Students will work on real-world collaborative projects, explore different media and learn traditional studio practices. They’ll design and create while living on a college campus in the heart of the one of the most vibrant art and design cities in the country.
CCAD College Preview is a three-week residential program designed for current high school students or recent graduates considering a future in the visual arts. This program allows students to take classes with our faculty, meet professional artists, learn traditional studio practices and exhibit their work — just like a full-time student at CCAD. They'll live in our residence halls, attend events on campus and explore the rich Columbus art scene. And they'll walk away with three real college credits and a newfound edge when applying to art and design schools.
College Credit Plus allows college-ready students in grades 7-12 to take college classes on CCAD's campus — and simultaneously earn high school and college credit. Students in the program are treated just like first-year college students and learn from industry leaders in fields ranging from animation to photography.
Educators’ Summer Studio is a studio-intensive course designed for you to try new things, develop meaningful connections with colleagues across the country and gain new ideas to take back to your classroom.
Adult Learning Opportunities include a wide range of programming to the community, including the option of taking courses from our undergraduate programs. If you're not looking to earn a degree, you don't have to be admitted to CCAD to audit or receive credit for these courses.
